Style On Call offers creative brand and style consultancy from two respected fashion and beauty professionals, Jane de Teliga and Elizabeth Barnett Lawton. They have worked for magazine titles such as Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue and InStyle.
Jane de Teliga
A respected fashion commentator, Jane has worked in magazines and newspapers as a stylist, writer and fashion director. She has been reporting on the fashion collections in London, Paris and Milan for many years.
She writes for The Australian newspaper and for Wool.com and Woolmark. She was the Fashion Director of Good Housekeeping in the UK and for eight years, the Style Director of The Australian Women’s Weekly, Australia’s leading women’s magazine as well as editor at large on Harper’s Bazaar Australia and fashion editor of The Sydney Morning Herald.
Jane is Senior Lecturer of Fashion Styling at Southampton Solent University and has been the External Examiner for the MA in Fashion Journalism at the London College of Fashion. She has given lectures and presentations to art and design institutions such as the V&A, women’s groups and fashion companies.
As a ‘woman of a certain age’ herself, she knows how to style grown-up women, and has dressed Nicole Kidman, Twiggy, Nigella Lawson, Duchess of York, and Trinny and Susannah and many others for magazines.
Elizabeth Barnett Lawton
Elizabeth is an award winning beauty editor and lecturer based in London. For over a decade she has written and styled shoots for some of the UK’s leading titles, including Vogue, Harper’s, InStyle, Good Housekeeping and allaboutyou.com.
She began her career in 1998 in the fashion department of Elle, followed by the beauty departments of British Vogue, and Harper’s. She was hired as part of the original launch team of the UK edition of InStyle, where she worked for six years and edited the cult Best Beauty Buys supplement.
As a beauty director on Happy and Good Housekeeping magazines Elizabeth capitalised on her fashion degree to style celebrities and models for her glamorous beauty shoots.
Elizabeth has freelanced for Vogue China, The Sunday Express Magazine and Marie Claire and guest edited the Elemis magazine, timetospa.co.uk. She has consulted and written advertorial copy for brands including Harrods, Dior and Olay and hosted nationwide reader events for House of Fraser, Toni & Guy and Space NK.
She is also a lecturer on the Media Fashion Styling degree programme at Southampton Solent University and blogs at MissVanityFlair.com
